Scientific study on the role of gender in substance use
We are conducting a study on the role of gender and diversity in the use and management of psychoactive substances. Our aim is to understand how harm minimisation services can better cater for all people who use.
How does the study work?
The study comprises an interview lasting approximately 60 minutes. In the interview, we talk about personal experiences with consumption, with personal, digital and other ways of obtaining substances; gender, identity and strategies for risk reduction and the role of support services.
Why take part?
Your perspective helps us to better understand the experiences of women and genderqueer people and to better tailor support services to them. We are happy to share the study results with you on request.
Can I take part? Yes, if you....
- ...describe yourself as a woman and/or genderqueer (e.g. non-binary)
- ...are at least 16 years old
- ...live in Vienna or the surrounding area
- ...have experience with psychoactive substances
Who is behind the project?
