New law on smoking mixtures
On 13 May 2011, a new law on the handling of smoking mixtures was passed: the regulation states that the placing on the market, the import and transfer of smoking mixtures containing cannabinoid-mimetically active substances are prohibited. All cannabinomimetic substances known to date are therefore in the Medicinal Products Act regulated. In plain language, this means that the distribution and trade of these smoking mixtures is a punishable offence - but possession (for personal use) and consumption remain unpunishable. You can find the Federal Law Gazette here.
Like all other psychoactive substances, the consumption of smoking blends harbours certain risks: as the ingredients are sometimes unknown and can vary greatly within a strain or product, dosing is difficult and the effects and duration of action can hardly be estimated. Synthetic cannabinoids are relatively unresearched substances, so the long-term effects and dangers are largely unknown. Should you nevertheless decide to use them, please observe the general risk reduction instructions!
