Death in connection with PMMA !
Death in connection with PMMA
ChEck iT! repeatedly warns of substances that are particularly harmful to health, such as a sample sold as speed in January 2011, which contained PMA and bk-MBDB instead of amphetamine.
As has only now become known, in January 2011 there was an accident in Austria. Death in connection with PMMA
(para-methoxymethamphetamine)! The white powder was probably as Speed purchased in Vienna and consumed nasally and contained, in addition to PMMA also 3',4'-Methylenedioxy-α-pyrrolidinobutiophenone (MDPBP), a substance that was found in Austria for the first time.
Recently, there have been repeated warnings about PMA and PMMA; in autumn 2010, several deaths were reported in Norway in connection with PMMA, in the Netherlands tablets containing PMMA were seized in November and Check iT! last analysed a speed sample containing PMA in January 2011, as mentioned above. So: PMA/PMMA can be found both in powder and in tablets.
Unfortunately, this shows once again that it is really important to have your substances tested! If this is not possible, test carefully, i.e. consume only small amounts and allow several hours to pass before topping up!!!
You can find information on PMA/PMMA on our homepage under Substances / Synthetic drugs!

!!! Warning !!! PMA !!!
22.01.2011
!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!! PMA!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We found PMA in a speed sample on 21 January 2011. The sample also contained bk-MBDB.
!!!We therefore strongly advise from the consumption of untested speed!!!
!!!Caution, the effect of the PMA-containing speed may NOT initially differ from conventional speed, as bk-MBDB can have a speed-like effect!!!!
Approximately one hour after taking PMA, blood pressure and body temperature rise suddenly and sharply. As users rarely know that they are consuming PMA, it can happen that they continue to consume it even before these symptoms appear. This mistake can be life-threatening. Many people around the world have already died from PMA. It should also be noted that PMA in powder form is very difficult to dose, as it is toxic even in small quantities!
If you consume speed despite the high health risk, only consume small amounts and allow several hours to pass before topping up!!!
How do I recognise a PMA overdose?
Heavy sweating, body temperature up to over 40 degrees, severe muscle cramps, rise in blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, rapid but heavy breathing, limbs falling asleep, erratic movement of the eyes;
If PMA ingestion is suspected, call the emergency services immediately (144)!
You can find more information about PMA on this website directly under the button "Substances" and then "Synthetic substances".

Attention !!! PMA or PMMA in the Netherlands & Norway !
16.11.2010
Attention!!! PMA and PMMA in the Netherlands and Norway
!!! Attention!!!
In the Netherlands PMA (para-methoxyamphetamine) in powder (sold as amphetamine) identified. At the same time, a link was identified in Norway between PMMA (para-methoxymethamphetamine) and recent overdoses resulting in death.
In addition, in the Netherlands Tablets (sold as ecstasy) emerged, which are about 100 mg PMMA contain. Even if there are no reports from other countries to date, it cannot be ruled out that these tablets or powders could also reach Austria.
The tablet found in the Netherlands is white/beige and has a shamrock logo on the front, is 5 mm thick and has a diameter of 9 mm.
In Austria, PMA was identified for the last time in summer 2009 in some samples from ChEck iT!
Approximately one hour after taking PMA, blood pressure and body temperature rise suddenly and sharply. As users rarely realise that they are taking PMA and not ecstasy, it can happen that they "throw it in" even before the symptoms appear, and this mistake can be life-threatening. Many people around the world have already died from PMA.
If you have consumed an ecstasy tablet or powder and you don't feel any effect, don't throw it away!!!
You can find more information about PMA/PMMA on this website directly under the button "Substances" and then "Synthetic substances".
