High-dose XTC tablets !

14.11.2011
Possibly high-dose ecstasy tablets in circulation

Our Swiss colleagues from Safer Party recently tested several ecstasy tablets that contained MDMA in very high concentrations (over 200 mg). Such high-dose pills have already appeared in the Netherlands this year - it cannot be ruled out that such tablets are also in circulation here. At doses of this level, negative effects such as jaw cramps, muscle tremors, anxiety, frightening visions and orientation difficulties come to the fore. In individual cases, epileptic seizures may occur. The exact description of the warnings can be found here and here.

Should you decide to consume such a tablet, Have your tablet tested! If you don't have the opportunity, Test carefully (no more than half a tablet) and do not top up straight away. To avoid overdosing, the following guideline applies: maximum 1.5 mg MDMA per body weight per kilogramme for men and 1.3 mg MDMA per kilogramme for women. This means a maximum of 90 mg MDMA for a 60 kg man and 65 mg for a 50 kg woman. This is important for high-dose XTC tablets, but generally applies to all. Don't be fooled by the logo - if your tablet looks like one of these, be more careful with the dosage. However, you can never be sure that your tablet contains MDMA just by looking at it - so have it tested and, if in doubt, test it carefully!
