5-MeO-DMT

5-MeO-DMT is a very strong, short and fast-acting psychedelic that is usually smoked. Psychedelics can greatly alter the perception of reality (e.g. visual perceptual changes). Due to the strong intensity of the effect, high doses can lead to panic, anxiety and disorientation, and the experience can be very overwhelming. Integrating the experience into everyday life can be difficult.

INFORMATION ON RISK REDUCTION

5-MeO-DMT is a very strong, short and fast-acting hallucinogen. It has hallucinogenic and entactogenic effects. The intensity of the effect is dose-dependent.

When smoked, the effect occurs after about 10-30 seconds and lasts up to 20 minutes. After-effects are usually noticeable for about an hour. When consumed nasally, the effect is only felt after approx. 5 minutes, although the effect lasts longer (30-40 minutes).
In the following 1 to 2 hours it can still feel like a state of intoxication.

In contrast to N,N-DMT, there are hardly any visual (pseudo-)hallucinations, as is typical of N,N- DMT, for example. Instead, the focus is on the perception of oneself and one's relationship to the world. A feeling of emptiness is often described; users speak of a rather "dark" high.

Due to the particular intensity of the effect, high doses can lead to panic, anxiety and disorientation. Brief unconsciousness often occurs during the effect. The ability to react can be greatly reduced. It is therefore particularly important to consume only in the company of trusted persons who can intervene or get help if necessary!

Nausea and vomiting are possible with nasal consumption. Muscle twitching may occur, the voice and its pitch may be altered. It is usually particularly difficult to articulate consciously. There is often no memory of what has been said.
The consumption of toad secretions containing 5-MeO-DMT in particular can lead to side effects such as cardiac arrhythmia, high blood pressure or convulsive seizures due to the catecholamines (adrenaline, noradrenaline) and bufotenine it contains.

With a high dosage, the after-effects can be felt for several days. After-effects can include sleep problems, feelings of anxiety, problems completing daily tasks and worries about what was experienced while high. It is often difficult to integrate the experience into everyday life.

Like N,N-DMT, 5-MeO-DMT is usually smoked, but can also be consumed nasally or intravenously.

Dosage: 2-15 mg smoked; 5-20 mg taken nasally

No dose information is available for intravenous consumption. However, it can be assumed that the required dose is significantly lower than for other forms of consumption.

There is currently no information available on the exact mode of action of 5-MeO-DMT. However, it can be assumed that the mechanism is similar to that of N,N- DMT. This means that different types of serotonin receptors in the brain are stimulated. (see N,N- DMT)

Users often recommend consuming it lying down or sitting up. It can therefore be assumed that the basal ganglia (responsible for gross motor skills and posture) are affected. During the duration of the effect, blood pressure and pulse rate may increase.

The probability of developing a physical or psychological dependence on 5-MeO-DMT is very low. Possible long-term effects are comparable to those of other hallucinogens. The consumption of 5-Me-O-DMT can trigger mental illnesses such as anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and depression, especially with frequent use and in people who are easily susceptible to them. It is difficult to determine in advance who is prone to this.

  • If you are afraid of consumption or unsure - it influences the effect
  • When you feel bad because of problems. Hallucinogens can intensify this mood.
  • Mental illnesses
  • Pregnancy
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart and circulatory problems
  • Simultaneous consumption of MAO inhibitors

If you consume psychoactive substances despite the health and criminal risks, you should be well acquainted with their effects and dangers and - in addition to the general advice - you should be aware of the following points:

5-MeO-DMT should always be consumed sitting or lying down Movement disorders such as grimacing or twitching may occur. It may be difficult to stand upright for the duration of the effect. There is a risk that you may fall over or knock over objects.

Reports from consumers suggest that 5-MeO-DMT is not a "party drug". It is therefore particularly important to only consume in a pleasant, quiet environment where you feel safe and comfortable to consume.

As 5-MeO-DMT is already effective in very small quantities, it requires only a small dose, to achieve the desired effect. It is difficult to estimate the right dose. It is somewhat easier to control when smoking, as you can tell whether you have had enough after just one inhalation. Dose carefully, especially when using intravenously or intramuscularly!

Many psychoactive substances can be taken in different ways. Therefore, find out about the least harmful form of consumption. In the case of 5-MeO-DMT, smoking is the least risky form. However, the pungent smoke can affect the airways and lungs

5-MeO-DMT belongs to the group of tryptamines and is a crystalline, white substance. Tryptamine is formed in the human body from the amino acid tryptophan. Tryptamine itself is not a hallucinogen. However, some substances that are based on tryptamine have a brief but very strong hallucinogenic effect. 5-MeO-DMT occurs naturally in some plants (e.g. cumala tree resin or itch bean seeds), as well as in the secretions of some toad species (e.g. Colorado River toad, Aga toad).

5-MeO-DMT is covered by the New Psychoactive Substances Act (=NPSG). This means that trafficking for profit (i.e. selling it) is a criminal offence. If it is possession for personal use, no further punitive measures are to be expected.
