Warning! Fake ecstasy containing PMMA and NEP
Over the last few days, here at checkit! we have found unexpected ingredients in ecstasy pills. These included the substances: PMMA and NEP. The pills were bought in Vienna.
Para-methoxymethamphetamine (PMMA) has stimulant and empathogenic effects similar to those of MDMA. Unlike MDMA, however, even small doses can place a significant strain on the cardiovascular system, causing a sharp and rapid rise in blood pressure and body temperature, as well as severe muscle spasms. The delayed onset of PMMA’s effects can lead to people taking more. This can result in life-threatening overdoses.
The consumption of N-ethylpentedrone (NEP) can lead to palpitations, arrhythmia, high blood pressure or even physical restlessness and overheating of the body.
We strongly advise against the consumption of these pills.
