In late July / early August 2026, we tested a number of substances of particular concern to public health as part of our mobile and stationary drug-checking services. In several tablets submitted for analysis as ‘ecstasy’, in addition to or instead of MDMA, Caffeine were found. A number of other ecstasy tablets contained a high or very high dose of MDMA. In some cocaine samples, cutting agents such as Levamisole, Procaine and/or Phenacetin was found. The majority of the samples submitted as 3-MMC and 4-MMC did not contain the expected cathinone, but rather a different cathinone, including 3-CMC, 4-CMC and N-Ethylpentedron.

Several tablets sold as ecstasy contained ingredients other than the expected MDMA. One tablet contained PMMAanother N-Ethylpentedron and another tablet contained, instead of MDMA, a unknown substance. In a sample submitted as cannabis, the synthetic cannabinoids MDMB-INACA, ADB-4en-PINACA, MDMB-4en-PINACA, 5F-MDMB-PINACA identified. A sample submitted as cocaine contained only Procaine. Furthermore, cathinone was detected in both a sample submitted as 3-MMC and one submitted as 4-MMC N-Ethylpentedron identified. A substance sold as ‘Tusibi – pink Cocaine’ contained, in addition to MDMA, Ketamine, Caffeine and 2C-B also a unknown substance.

In a sample submitted for analysis as MDMA, the following were found alongside MDMA: 2-MMC detected; in another MDMA sample, a mixture of Ketamine and 2-MMC. The majority of samples submitted for analysis as 2-MMC, 3-MMC or 4-MMC (mephedrone) did not contain the expected cathinone, but rather one or more other cathinones, including N-Ethylpentedron and 4-CMC.

Between mid- and late June 2026, we tested a number of substances of particular concern to public health as part of our in-person drug-checking service. In addition to some ecstasy tablets containing extremely high doses, one tablet was found to contain a mixture of MDMA, 4-CMC, caffeine, 1-PEA and one unknown substance detected. A sample submitted as GHB contained only GBL. In a sample sold as MDMA, the active ingredients were 4-MMC (Mephedrone), 4-CMC and 4-BEC identified.

In early June 2026, we tested a number of substances of particular concern to public health. In two samples submitted for analysis as mephedrone (4-MMC), the following were also found: 4-BEC or 4-MEC was detected. Furthermore, in several samples sold as 3-MMC 4-CMC and/or N-ethylpentedrone (NEP) found. One sample each, labelled as LSD and MDMA, contained instead a unknown substance. Alongside a few very high doses of MDMA In addition to the expected MDMA, several ecstasy tablets were also found to contain traces of Caffeine or instead Amphetamine, 3-CMC or a unknown substance determined.

In mid to late May 2026, we tested a number of substances of particular health concern. In most of the cathinones submitted for analysis, one or more other cathinones were detected than expected, including in particular 4-CMC (4-chloromethcathinone). Furthermore, in a sample submitted for analysis as fentanyl, in addition to two previously unidentified opioids[1] which is many times more effective Carfentanil detected. A tablet submitted for analysis as ecstasy showed a unknown substance .

In early to mid-May 2026, we tested a number of substances of particular health concern during stationary and mobile drug checking. In addition to MDMA, one sample submitted as MDMA contained the active ingredient 4-CMC was found. In two tablets dispensed as 2C-B, in addition to the expected active substance, one unknown substance detected. One cocaine sample contained only Procaine.

At the end of April 2026, we tested a number of substances of particular health concern. In a fragment submitted for analysis as ecstasy, instead of the expected MDMA, a mixture of MDMA and Caffeine identified. In a sample submitted for analysis as HHC, the synthetic cannabinoid MDMB-PINACA and a unknown substance and in a hashish sample the synthetic cannabinoids ADMB-5en-HINACA and ADB-HEXINACA identified. The majority of samples submitted as 3-MMC or mephedrone (4-MMC) did not contain the expected cathinone, but another cathinone or a mixture of several cathinones, including 4-CMC, N-Ethylpentedron and 4-BEC.
